Newsletter March 2008 Hello!  Welcome to Spring!   It's my favorite time of year!  We are excited to offer some fun classes for this season.  If you're a regular class attendee, check out the offerings!  And bring a friend with you!  We love to addict new people.  A couple of ongoing items:   VIP Cards--A special savings for you!  A VIP card gets "punched" for the first $25 and each $10 you spend in the shop excluding discounted merchandise and classes.  We try to remember to punch for each purchase at the time of purchase, but we cannot go back to previous purchases.  If you don't have one....get one!    Donna's Demo--Every Friday 12 to 5:30!  Join Donna for some fabulous techniques!  She makes beautiful cards, gives great instruction and has awesome tips to share with you too. And, best of all it is FREE!!   Coupon Day--Every Friday is coupon day. Bring in your Michael's or JoAnns coupon and save 40% off any 1 regularly priced item.   Open Studio--Every Thursday we are open from 9 am to 10 pm for your crafting pleasure. Open Studio is a nice way to spend the day crafting with friends. Only $12.95 for the whole day, use studio stamps, inks, sizzix, and such. You also receive a $5 gift certificate to use on a future visit.   Spring Classes from The Paper Playhouse, Inc.   BASIC TOOL KIT FOR PAPERCRAFT CLASSES Should include your choice of cutting system, X-acto knife, cutting mat, ruler, bone folder, favorite adhesive, scissors and a pencil.   The basic tool kit is for your convenience to be able to use familiar products during classes. We use Glue Sticks as an adhesive,  also the  scissors may not be as sharp or cut the way you are used to, that is why we suggest the Basic Tool Kit. You may not need all the items for each class but it doesn't hurt to be prepared. All classes must be pre-payed at he time of registration! You may pay with cash, check or credit card to reserve your place in the class. The cancellation policy is as follows, if you cancel more than 24 hours before a class you may receive a full refund. If you cancel within 24 hours of a class you may apply that class amount toward a future class, this balance may only be applied once to a future class. If you do not show up for a class and we have not received word from you, the class fee cannot be returned. Tuesday March 4 10-1pm or 6-9pm Beginning Scrapbooking   Get ready to explore the fun of Scrapbooking with Peggy. She will teach you the basics to get you started making spectacular scrapbook pages. You will learn about adhesives, papers, embellishments, cropping your photo, matting and so much more. Please bring 4-5 pictures of one theme to make your page. You will also receive 10% off purchases on the day of class. **Please no one of a kind photos.** $10       Thursday March 6 7-10 pm Puci Party       It's time for our monthly Puci Party. Join us to make your Clay creation. You will be using the slab roller to condition and roll out your clay. Then you can impress your natural finds into the clay. If you are going to use items found in nature such as leaves, ferns, and such you will want them to have deep lines and grooves to show up in the clay better. After you have your items impressed in the clay it is time to choose a mold and fit it into it. That is it for this week then it will dry for about 10 days and then onto the painting and decorating.  This is Peggy's first time project!  No, she is not a professional!  $25.00 includes clay, class, all paint and several firings!      Friday March 7 - Sunday March 16  Treasure Hunt Extended Hours During This Event Sunday                  12- 5pm Monday - Saturday 10- 6pm Thursday            9am-10pm Friday until                 8pm The Tampa Bay Treasure Hunt kicks off Friday March 7. If you are participating good luck and have fun. This year there are more stores, larger prizes and loads of fun.   Springy Spring Card Tuesday March 11 10-12pm   This cute little "spring" card springs into action when you open it.  It looks harder than it is......and you'll be making the pattern paper yourself!   $16   All Boxed In Friday March 14 6-8pm   In this brand new class, you will create an open faced box and 3 - 4x6 index cards to decorate.  The great thing about this class is you can customize the color scheme to suit your decor or that of a friend (makes a great gift.)  This neat box can be used for Recipes, an Address & Phone Book, Birthday Planner, holder for a gift card set custom made by you. The ideas are endless. Bring you basic tool kit (see above). $16   Tuesday March 18 10-1pm or 6-9pm Make & Take   This monthly class is very popular with everyone. You will make a total of 12 cards at 4 different stations in the classroom. There is plenty of time at each table to complete your cards. A variety of techniques, some old some new are utilized with stunning results. Sign up early for either session. **Please bring your basic tool kit to this class** $18    Saturday March 22 10-1pm Scrapbook Project Class   "It's All About Me", celebrate that special boy or girl in you life. This two page spread uses punches, layers and had great dimension. Also, there is a mini accordian scrapbook for photos and much more. There is plenty of room for 10 or more photos of your child. When you sign up and pre-pay for your class please choose either boy or girl.   Monday March 24 10-1pm Penny Black Class Yup!  It's Monday and Marsha is opening up just for this special class. We love Penny Black Stickers!  They are the fastest cards in the south and they look like you've spent hours!  Marsha knows just how to embellish these stickers to make them "wowie".  (That's Marsha's word!)  This is one of two stickers sheets being used in the class.  Wow!    10 cards $18.00       Tuesday March 25 10-1pm Beginning Stamping   In this beginning stamping class you will learn the fundamental techniques to have you on your way to creating cards for family and friends in no time. Marsha will review papers, dye and pigment ink, adhesives, layering and so much more. You will leave the class with 4-5 cards, time permitting. You will also receive 10% off purchases on the day of class. $10         Tuesday March 25 2-5 pm Beyond the Basics   Once you've learned the basics, stay for the afternoon to learn "Beyond the Basics".  In this class, you learn markers, embossing and more.  Your cards will just keep getting cuter and cuter!  $15.00             Great Impressions Board Class Wednesday March 19 1-4pm or 6-9pm This artboard from Great Impressions is full of greetings and thoughtful sentiments for you. They have a light breezy feel to lift anyones spirits. Join us to make all 6 of these beautiful cards. You will be led step by step as you make these beautiful cards using a variety of techniques and so few stamps.**Please bring your basic tool kit to this class**  6 Cards $22     Garage Sale  Saturday March 29 10-2 pm   It is time once again for our Semi-Annual used stamp and craft items sale. This is very popular with both sellers and buyers. Stop in or call to get your number to sell your own stuff. More details to follow soon.   April Preview!  Itty Bitty Kitty Book Tuesday April 1 10:30-1pm     Do you have a special "Itty Bitty Kitty"?  Here's a great way to show off your trusted friend.  Cute stickers and embellisments make this an adorable book of your favorite pet!  $16.00    (And if you have a special "Top Dog" in your life, keep Friday April 4 open.) Paper Bag Recipe Book     Save family favorite recipes in this paper bag book.  It has pockets and tags for using actual recipes.....maybe you have some special ones written by Grandma or Mom in their handwriting....what a great way to save them!  Stop in and see the sample!      Keep watching for our weekly updates as new classes are added continuously.
